What is a CA ?
The Chartered Accountant (CA) designation signifies that the holder has been through the Institute of Chartered Accountant's extensive CA Program. The Institute's postgraduate program is renowned for its rigour, practicality and quality. It is rated as one of the toughest courses of its type, attracting elite candidates who demonstrate outstanding ability and a real commitment to the profession. The CA Program combines technical and theoretical learning with practical on the job training, making CAs some of the best qualified business professionals around.
The CA designation is recognised world-wide as a mark of excellence, inspiring respect and confidence. Not only are CAs the elite of their profession, they maintain the highest professional and ethical standards. This means that CAs are justly proud of their title because it denotes the independence and objectivity that are cornerstones of the profession.
As part of their membership obligations, CAs must undertake at least 120 hours of continuing professional education over each three year period, as a result, members are up to date with the latest developments in business and finance, and across a range of specialist fields.
